What is OBG Assist? OBG Assist is a business which began delivering property maintenance services to Ballarat residential and commercial sectors from 1 May, 2008. OBG Assist began as part of Oldies But Goodies, a company owned and managed by Paul Ryan. The objectives of OBG Assist are as follows; - to provide a quality property maintenance service to the residents and businesses of Ballarat, and - to provide employment opportunities for the group of under employed, mature age tradespersons in Ballarat As the Managing Director of Oldies But Goodies since 1st July 2006, Paul became aware of many situations where mature age tradespersons were looking to find suitable part time employment in the labour market. It was a constant frustration for Paul to find many sympathetic employers with a similar story of not being able to offer continuous employment. To solve this problem and create the required employment opportunities Paul created a business called OBG Assist which currently provides a vehicle for skilled, motivated mature age tradespersons to continue working and meets a need in the marketplace for additional trades services. The success of the business relies on work being performed which is cost effective and of a high quality. All tradespersons engaged by OBG Assist are extensively checked (including a compulsory police check) and researched, ensuring a reputation for quality and cost effectiveness which will be entrenched in the labour market over the coming years. With community support there will potentially be many beneficiaries to such a business. To find out more please contact Paul Ryan on (03) 5336 3444 or email paul@obgassist.com.au
